The three kinds of free
The third is the most useful and the least common, because there is nothing to upsell. It exists mostly where a company uses a tool to demonstrate competence rather than to convert.
What you can do for nothing as a UK food business

The ceiling is rarely storage. It is propagation. A free stack means your costings live in one place, your labels in another and your allergen matrix in a third, and a single supplier change has to be applied three times by hand. Below about ten products that is a minor chore. Past twenty it is the job.
The honest test: if a supplier reformulated an ingredient tomorrow, how many places would you have to update, and would you remember all of them?
